Be the first to share your memories or express your condolences in the Guest Book for Bernard “Bernie” Blasius.
Bernard Blasius, or as community knew him- Bernie. A father, grandfather, brother, husband and friend. Bernie was born July 20th 1932 in Castor, Alberta to be the 8th child of 9. He was a hardworking, kind and humble man; often working as a mechanic, electrician, plumber or carpenter for free to those in the communities who fell on hard times, even when he wasn’t ahead himself. He never said no to an opportunity to help others in any way he could.
Bernie passed away peacefully on
November 16, 2017 in his home in Turner Valley, Alberta. He leaves behind his adoring wife of fifty-four years, Kay Blasius, his two married children Matthew Blasius and Wendy Vincent as well as their spouses, Trena Ulmner and Dean Vincent. Bernie also leaves behind four grandchildren, Shelby Hopp and Jacey Vincent and Karlee and Melissa Hynes as well as two great grandchildren he didn’t have the opportunity to meet. All of his family and friends have cherished memories of who he was, the accomplishments he had made in his life, his contribution to the community he made and the family man he was. There is not a moment where he wouldn’t have brought along his children and grandchildren along to a worksite with him to teach them everything he knew. He was a great teacher and a great man.
As per his wishes, no service will be held. Though your prayers to the family would be appreciated.
