BLACKMUR, Marjorie Irene (nee Johnson) Marj’s family is saddened to announce her passing on March 8, 2018 in Saskatoon, SK. Marj was born at Carragana Outpost Hospital on January 3, 1937, the youngest of ten children to Robert and Marion Johnson. She is survived by her twin brothers, Bryan and Wayne: children: Corey and Charlene, Craig and Deltra, and Eleanor and Adam: grandchildren: Jesse, Rees, Rhett, Jazmin, and Nathan: great-granddaughter, Annabeth: and the families of her heart: Garth and Angela and Harvey and Angel and their families. Marj was predeceased by her parents, and seven siblings: Robert, Mildred, Joan, Ken, Laurine, Rose, and Elaine. Marj loved her country music, watching hockey, and the Toronto Blue Jays. Up to the ’50s, Marj and her sister, Rose travelled Saskatchewan and Manitoba performing on radio stations, and at other venues, as the Johnson Sisters. After starting her family, Marj returned to the workforce in the ’60s, most notably as an operator for SaskTel for many years. She also belonged to the Royal Purple most of her adult life, holding positions of Secretary, Treasurer, and Honored Royal Lady. Every year participating in the Purple Cross Walk-a-thon, where she was very proud of raising the most money, and walking the most miles annually. Marj was an extraordinary, ordinary woman with a great sense of humor, who was generous with her heart, as well as all she had. Always helping others and accepting many of them into her home and heart over the years. A service of remembrance and interment of cremains will take place in the Spring. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to the MS Society. Arrangements entrusted to Cherished Memories Funeral Services.
