It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of a beautiful soul, Lisa Marie Coulson on the morning of Sunday October 7 at her home and surrounded by family at the age of 47 years. Beloved wife of Don and a loving, fun mother to her pride and joys, sons Jacob and Daniel. Lisa was pre-deceased by her infant children Katy-Leigh and Donald, and had far more than her share of pain in life but that could not ever dull her vibrant, loving and giving nature. Lisa was admired and respected by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
She will be greatly missed by her parents Norman and Diane with sisters Cathy and Debby of Calgary, Alberta. She was loved very much by her sisters and parents-in-law Joyce and Don Coulson, Wendy Coulson Burke with Sandy Coulson Black.
Lisa was an active, dynamic and positive person who had a smile and kindness for anyone and everyone. As a taekwondo black belt and owner of Barrie Taekwondo Club, Lisa together with her family have brought the martial art to hundreds of students over the past 20 years. Lisa was a mountain biker, kayak and canoe camper, fly-fisher, traveler, gardener, dog rescuer and loved her time volunteering at the local Salvation Army mission.
Lisa will be greatly missed by her many co-workers in the Respiratory Therapy department at Southlake Health Center in Newmarket where she was an accomplished and respected member of the team for 15 years.
A Gathering in Memory of Lisa’s Life will take place at the Barrie Taekwondo Club at 1027 Bayfield St North in Barrie on Saturday October 13th. Guests are encouraged to come pay respects to Lisa and her family at any time between 3:30 and 6 pm. Friends are asked to bring any great pictures they have of Lisa for a collection being put together by the family.
Refreshments and food will be provided by the We Unite Ladies Group of Oro.
Memorial donations may be made in Lisa’s name to the Cancer Center at RVH in Barrie.
