Mary (May) MacInroy, nee Peacock

It is with great sadness that the family announces the death of a beloved wife, mother and grandmother. Predeceased by her mother Agnes and her twin brother, James, in Renfrew, Scotland.

May was born in Renfrew and emigrated to Canada in 1966. She leaves to mourn her loving husband, Cameron; daughter Carin (Aaron Smith); and David (Stephanie). She was much loved Grandmother to Cameron, Junior and Ronan MacInroy and Liam MacInroy-Smith.

May also leaves behind Sister-in-law Sheila Talbot (Frank); Janet Reilly (Frank); Judith McInroy (the late Stephen) all from New Brunswick; Brothers-in-law Lauchlan (Toronto) and Alan (Vancouver). As well, May leaves behind several cousins in Scotland.

May was a devout Catholic and gave immensely of herself in many endeavours involving both St. Philip the Apostle and Holy Cross parishes among them “Rainbows” for God’s Children and as long-time Chair of ShareLife at St. Philip’s Parish; Catholic Woman’s League and the Legion of Mary and as a mediator / facilitator with St. Philip’s.

Funeral arrangements are being carried out by Armstrong Funeral Home at 124 King Street East, Oshawa. As per her request, May will be cremated. There will be a Memorial Mass at Holy Cross Catholic Church at 373 Simcoe Street South, Oshawa on Thursday June 7, 2018 at 11 am with Fr. Keith Callaghan Officiating. Interment of her ashes will take place following the mass. A reception will follow in the church hall.

In lieu of flowers, the family gratefully requests donations to be made to _______________________ or the charity of your choice.

The family would like to thank the health care team (doctors, nurses, PSWs) who cared for May in her final days, allowing her to fulfill her wish to die at home.
