It is with extreme grief and sorrow that the family announces the sudden passing of Mike. This amazing man is remembered in so many ways – he gave unconditional love to his family and was so loved in return. He was held as Patriarch by both his family and his siblings, making all those who knew him feel special and that he truly cared about them. Dad was a role model extraordinaire, very wise and pragmatic, and always kept things real. He was a kind and generous man, who carried himself with utmost integrity and elegance. A driving force in our family, he was always our biggest supporter. Son, Brother, Brave Soldier, Soccer Player, Husband, Father, Father-in-Law, Grandfather, Step Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Uncle, Friend. As a World War II Veteran who heroically served his Country, he was a proud member of the Black Watch of Canada, Montreal Regiment.
Loving husband of Merelda (2009), our beloved father, our loving grandfather, doting great grandfather, you will be missed more than can be expressed. Peacefully at the Headwaters Health Centre on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 in his 94th year.

Cherished father of Maureen (Richard), Elaine (Walter), Michael (Nancy), Joanne (Ken), beloved grandfather of Jennifer, Veronica, Nicholas, Allison, Shannon, Lindsay, Caitlin, Shane, Devon and Celton, step-grandfather of Meagan and Kelly, great-grandfather of Addison and Kira, loving brother of Theresa, Elizabeth and Joseph, also sadly missed by his nieces and nephews and other relatives and many friends. Pre-deceased by his brother Frank.

Visitation will be held at the Dods & McNair Funeral Home, Chapel & Reception Centre, 21 First Street, Orangeville on Sunday, January 29, 2017 from 2:00 – 4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Monday, January 30, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. Reception to follow. Memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

A tree will be planted in memory of Michael in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville. A dedication service will be held on Sunday, September 10, 2017 at 2:30 p.m. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.dodsandmcnair.com
